Let's compare bellies...
Unfortunately, my 16 week appointment got bumped till tomorrow. Apparently too many girls were in labor - you would think they could have waited till after my appointment!! Just joking! So for fun, lets compare my belly this time to last.

The baby is moving!!!
I've been waiting patiently now for the past few weeks for this day to arrive, and I can finally feel the baby moving! I was lying in bed last night and felt the tiniest flutters - I can't wait till they turn into powerful kicks.
Today we took Addisyn to Caledonia to play in the creek and at the playground. She had so much fun! This child has absolutely no fear of water, and by the end was completely soaked. Thankfully I was prepared with dry clothes!

The Cornmaze
Today we set out to tackle what I thought was an easy cornmaze along with our Mom's Club friends. Little did we all know that this thing was gigantic! The course started out with me attempting to follow the map, leading us through the letters spelling the name, "Windy Knoll" and into an ice cream cone. This is where my leading skills quickly faded! After realizing I had no clue where we were according to the map, we decided just to free go it and see what happened. We wandered through the corn, chasing kiddos as they weaved in and out of the stalk for 1 1/2 hours till we finally gave up! Fortunately, we were able to find an emergency exit sign and made our way out of the corn. Who knew a maze could be so difficult?! Addisyn was such a trooper, she walked almost the entire time! Our reward for our adventure was some wonderful ice cream. What a treat! When the morning was over and Addisyn and I were headed home, I looked in my rearview mirror to find her sound asleep! All that walking took its toll on her - she slept straight through lunch for 3 1/2 hours solid! If I am ever brave enough to tackle a maze with a 17 month old again, I think I'll carry spray paint to mark our path!

Intelligender???
Has anyone heard of this test? Or I guess the question is, is anyone crazy enough to spend $30 on a test that only gives you a 82% accuracy rate? If you don't know me well enough by now, I am so that person. In fact, I took that picture - so obviously I've taken the test!! Now I won't be buying any items or painting any walls till I have an ultrasound confirm.....but so far....according to the chinese gender calendar, my dreams, and the intelligender test...all signs are pointing towards...
Just in case you are wondering, the color should match up to the green line if it is a boy result:
And just for comparison, the chinese calendar was right in predicting Addisyn was a girl, but I dreamed of a baby boy twice before finding out she was a girl. So has anyone tried this test or know of someone who did with an accurate result in the end? Or how about your own chinese calendar predictions? I guess we'll wait a few more weeks to hopefully find out if my $30 was well spent or if I should of loaded up on some Igloo ice cream instead!
In case you wanted to check the calender - here's a link to follow!

Vacation and Addisyn's 17 mos update
We had a wonderful time at the beach, despite the hurricane keeping us out of the water Saturday and Sunday! Addisyn was a bit skeptical of the water the first 2 days, but quickly warmed up and loved it. By the last day we actually had to chase after her when she took of towards the water. I think one of her favorite activities of the trip was chasing the seagulls - if only she could have caught them! We were able to enjoy many dinners out, walks on the beach at night, rented a surrey, and even went miniature golfing. Brad was able to squeeze in plenty of boogie boarding time also! Our trip overlapped my parents vacation, so they were able to entertain Addisyn the first 2 days with us! As much as I love going away, I was definitely ready to be home. Vacationing with a toddler can be exhausting at times! Brad and I did take advantage of family nap time every afternoon - a much needed break for all three of us. The dolphins were quite brave and came very close to the shore line - I tried my best to get some good pics! We all managed to come back with nice tans (Addisyn was fortunate to get Brad's skin tone) and you can't be at the beach that long without a little sunburn when you have my skin tone - my scalp is currently peeling!
This month also makes number 17 for Addisyn. What a personality this child has! I truly think as she grows, her and I will butt heads many times. We've started to move into the tantrums and boy can she throw one! Thankfully they are not a common thing, but I'm afraid they may quickly turn into that. Addisyn's vocabulary is continuing to increase daily and she has turned into such a daredevil. I caught her crawling on top the table at least 5 times today! She is working very hard on jumping and has finally taken to coloring rather than eating crayons. Addisyn is now also able to eat with utensils, open doors, and has mastered turning lights off and on - who knew something so simple could be so entertaining??!! Despite her strong personality, she still brings so much joy to our household. I can't wait to see what next month has in store for us!

13 week appointment
A week late...but we had a doctor's appointment last Wednesday. We were finally able to hear the baby's heart beating - thumping away in the 150's! What a wonderful sound! After a week long stomach bug, I am now down 2 lbs. So I guess I get to eat extra food to make up for that!! So it looks like we're officially on to the second trimester and are now weeks away from finding out whether we are having a boy or another little girl. I can't wait!!!

Catch up on the month of August
Here we are 1/2 way through the month and I have yet to post! Life has been busy. Over the past few weeks, we've taken a road trip to Brad's parents house, had many playdates, and have been soaking up as much sun as possible before summer is over. Addisyn has also had a few firsts - she stepped on and was stung by her first bee, learned the color blue, and can now open doors. Not the greatest thing to do when you're trying to shower and she leaves the bathroom! While at my in-laws house, we finally we able to get some more use out of Addisyn's t-shirt and spread the word about baby #2! I had to laugh because Brad's parents never noticed the shirt, but the next door neighbor saw it immediately and almost blew the secret! So we had to quickly quiet the neighbor and tell Brad's parents to read the shirt. This weekend we had my sister Kristen and Matt home for a visit and had a cook-out with all the family Friday evening.
I am anxiously awaiting my doctor's appointment this Wednesday to finally hear this little one's heartbeat! We've seen it several times, but nothing beats the sound of it. I've been feeling slightly under the weather since Wednesday. Apparently I've caught a stomach bug that just doesn't want to completely disappear.
Brad has been busy digging up the ground along the side of our house for yet another flower bed. He always manages to find plenty to do in the yard! We are leaving Wednesday for our family vacation to the beach, and boy are we ready! I can't wait to see Addisyn running up and down the beach and playing in the sand. I'm not sure how much relaxing we'll get to do - but at least we'll be getting in some exercise chasing her! Here are a few pics from the last few weeks.
