Ben's 6 mos check-up

Ben had his doctors appointment today and is doing great! He's up to 20 lbs (the 87th percentile) and is 26 1/2 inches long (the 51st percentile). It seems so funny to me that Addisyn was always and still is off the charts, and Ben is average for length and just a little bigger in weight! Crazy how different babies can be. After 3 shots, Ben had a bit of a fussy afternoon. Fortunately his evening has been much smoother!
I'm hoping to get out some this Thursday to take a few more pics of Ben!

Happy half-birthday Ben!!!

Today our little man is 6 mos old!!! We celebrated with a banana and cereal mixture topped off with a candle. So what's Ben up to these days? He can sit unsupported, roll over from belly to back, reaches for you when he wants picked up, and loves to snuggle! Ben wears 6-9 mos clothing and a size 2-3 diaper. He naps 2-3 times a day, usually totally 4 1/2 hrs/day and sleeps for 11-12 hrs total overnight, waking after 9 or so hrs to eat. My poor little guy has been a little fussy the past few days due to his teeth - his 3rd tooth just popped through today! Ben goes to the doctors for his check-up on Tuesday. Instead of taking Ben somewhere for his 6 mos pics, I'm going to attempt them myself! We had our first photo shoot today, but didn't get many shots because he was teething and fussy. Once I finish them, I'll be sure to post!

Just another day......

Just a day around the house - Addisyn is in a silly mood today - everything is funny for whatever reason!
And Ben, he's just not the happiest of campers. I'm not sure if he's working on another tooth or what, because he's drooling up a storm, napping a ton, and is chewing on my arm as I'm typing! Poor little man....

We squeezed in one last picnic for the summer with Tricia and the girls before Tricia returns back to teaching. The girls just love playing together and are the best of friends!!

A train ride

Last Thursday we met up with our mom's club for a train ride. The kids loved it! Addisyn talked about it all night and made sure she told both her nanny and grandma all about it. I love that she remembers our outings and tells such sweet stories of her day!

Hot Air Balloon Festival

We took a short trip south (greencastle!) to the balloon festival last Saturday evening. After paying $15 to get in, $20 on entertainment for Addisyn, and $20 to eat, they cancelled sending the balloons into the air. Apparently it was too windy for them! Here are a few shots of Addisyn loving the bouncy houses.

He did good.....

Brad went above and beyond for my birthday this year. I told him with gifts like this, I'd turn 30 every year!! He came home with my very much wanted ice cream cake and cards from him and the kids. Inside my card was a gc to the spa (YIPPEE) and some money for shopping (another YIPPEE). I assumed that was it, until he started carrying several boxes into the room. Addisyn could barely contain herself from ripping them all open! I got an amazing Canon T1i camera and a much needed new computer. So be on the lookout for some great pics - I'm far from a pro, but with the right camera and a good eye, I'm sure I can get some amazing pic. Here are some previews of whats to come....

Lake Tobias

Last Saturday Brad and I took the kiddos to Lake Tobias. The day didn't have the greatest of starts - after the 1 1/2 hr drive, we got there and realized we didn't have our stroller! Fortunately I had my Ergo carrier for Ben and Addisyn was fine walking. Our first stop was the safari tour. We loved it! It was so neat to see the animals come right up to you and eat out of your hands. Addisyn talked about this for days! After the tour we looked at some of the caged animals, then grabbed lunch. By this point, we were all hot, and Addisyn didn't want to walk anymore, so we skipped the petting zoo. Hopefully we can go back next year with the stroller and see all the animals!

It's my BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a birthday I've been dreading for awhile now.......30. I'm now officially a grown up. No longer the care free girl in her 20's just starting out.......I'm a wife, mom of two, and now 30. Gosh - typing that makes it sound kind of depressing!! I guess I just see the 20's as a decade of firsts - college, jobs, marriage, house, kiddos, the list goes on! I've done all of those firsts - so now I guess I just get old??!!! Ugghh.....can't I just stay 29 a little longer? The last 10 years of my life have been amazing, I'm just not sure how the next 10 can compare. Guess we'll have to find a way to make it exciting!! All joking aside, happy birthday to me and Brad better come home with my ice cream cake or else!

The Shippensburg Fair

Last Wednesday I met up with my friend Tricia and her two girls for kiddie day at the fair. Addisyn and Haylee loved it! Like a typical July day, it was hot. Most of my day was spent finding shade and cooler areas for Ben and Kayla - not an easy task at the fair.

Updates on Ben

So Ben turns 5 months and he's a totally different baby!! He's now eating cereal once a day, can drink out of a sippy cup, is able to sit unsupported, and has 2 teeth on the bottom! I can't believe how in just a matter of few days, so many exciting things have happened. Please someone, make him slow down!! Addisyn is loving feeding Ben and is constantly trying to give him a drink. She's such a good helper!
