9 month check-up

Addisyn had her 9 month check-up this morning and everything looks great! She now weighs 22 lbs 10 oz, and is 29 1/2 inches long. Her length puts her in the 90th percentile, and the 90-95th for her weight. She won't go back till her 1 year check-up.

Baby's 1st Christmas

Where to start....the holidays have been so much fun with Addisyn. We started celebrating with Brad's family the 19th. We had a weekend full of lots of food and presents. Christmas day was spent with my parents and Kristen, then we had the whole Watkins clan over today. Addisyn got so many wonderful presents! Our house has officially been taken over by toys! One of my favorite presents was a plane ticket to Florida to visit Jenn, Vince & Luca. Addisyn and I (yes, just the 2 of us!) will be flying out January 23rd through the 26th.

9 months old!!

Wow...9 months! Where has the time gone? Addisyn's personality has really taken off this month. She's learned how to dance to music (her rhythm, or lack of, has definetely come from her father) and is cruising along the furniture. Besides saying dada, she can also say kitty - although it sounds more like gigee! She is turning into such an active, happy baby, and is such a joy to all! Her check-up will be on the 29th, so check back for her weight.

Addisyn is sick!!

Our poor baby got her first cold and boy has it taken a toll on all of us! After 2 sleepless nights, I think we're on the road to recovery. Lets hope we all stay healthy for the rest of the winter!

1st Thanksgiving

Addisyn's first Thanksgiving was wonderful! She was able to celebrate with the Watkins family on Thanksgiving day, and the Williams family over the weekend. Addisyn loved the turkey and stuffing! With the exception of nighttime, she did great on the road trip. I'm not sure if it was the new environment or the pack n play, but she did not want to sleep at night! Brad & I are both glad to be back home and in our routine again!

8 months...

Another month has gone by too quickly! This past month has been very busy for Addisyn. She's learned how to crawl and pull herself to standing, and can even take a side step while holding onto the furniture! I can't believe she's growing so quickly...right before our eyes! Addisyn is now eating regular foods three times a day and is eating what we have for dinner. She loves to play and babble to herself. The only words so far are DaDa and Baba - still waiting for Mama! This next month will be filled with her first Thanksgiving and Christmas. We're already dreading the house being taken over by toys!!

Check-up

Addisyn had a doctors appointment for her last 1/2 of the flu shot. She's gained exactly 1 lb since her last appointment, so she's at 21 lbs 13.5 oz. Now that Addisyn is very mobile, she's keeping Brad and I very busy! Over the weekend she thought she ought to wake up in the middle of the night to practice her new skills (felt like life with a newborn again), but luckily she's back to her old self!

She's crawling!!!

Addisyn finally decided to take off this afternoon and crawl more than just 2 steps! Its so cute!!! She kept crawling towards my plate!

Addisyn is 7 mos old!!!

Another month has gone by and we're one month closer to the big 1! Addisyn is still the best baby. She brings so much joy to our household! During the past month she's learned how to manuever across the room, but still can't crawl forward! She tries so hard, but her little legs just don't want to go yet. She's also trying to pull herself up onto her knees, but can't get her feet under herself yet. Her babbling is now turning into words, dada being the only one so far! I've introduced her to a wide variety of fruits and veggies, and she is far from a picky eater. She's now eating a lot of her dinner from what Brad and I are having. And if she's not being fed quick enough, she lets you know! Addisyn still naps 3 times a day, we're not complaining about that, and sleeps anywhere from 9-11 hrs a night without waking. We're so thankful to have a baby that sleeps!!! Addisyn goes back to the pediatrician for her second round of the flu shot in 2 1/2 weeks, and then won't be seen till her 9 month check-up.

"Dada"

Yup, you guessed it! Addisyn is now saying dada! She started it this morning while the three of us were lying in bed, and has been doing it nonstop since. Now if we can get her to say mama...

Addisyn's 6 mos check-up

Addisyn had her check-up today and is continuing to grow like a weed! She's up to 20 lbs 13 oz, which is the 97th percentile still, and is 27" long, which drops her to the 90th percentile. She received all of her immunizations plus the flu shot, and with the exception of a low grade fever and a little fussiness, she did well. She will get the other 1/2 of the flu shot next month, then she's done with immunizations until March.

Addisyn is 6 mos old!

I can't believe our baby girl is 6 months old already! During the past month she's turned into a pro at sitting and reaching for objects without loosing her balance and is now able to make many different noises with her mouth and tongue. She's also been working on getting into the crawling stance - we're so not ready for that! The most exciting change for me this past month, is seeing her excitement when I've been gone for a while and come back, and having her reach for me. We celebrated her 1/2 birthday with a cereal & plum mixture topped off with a candle! Her check-up won't be till 10/7, so stay tuned for the growth update.

Addisyn's trip to the nation's capital

We took an extended weekend to DC - Brad for a medical conference, and Addisyn & I just to get away. During the daytime, we did some sightseeing, swimming in the hotel pool, and a little shopping. Before coming home, we went to the zoo. Addisyn seemed to enjoy looking at the animals!

Addisyn is 5 months old!

Another month has gone by, and Addisyn is changing daily. Her personality is really shining through! She's still a wonderful sleeper for us and is a pretty laid back baby as long as she gets what she wants! Addisyn can now sit up unassisted and is able to turn her body in circles while lying on her back. She still hasn't figured out how to roll from back to belly - but I'm sure she'll figure it out soon. This past month we started her on solids. So far she's had cereal, bananas, carrots, and pears. I've been making all of it so far and plan to continue doing so. Addisyn also squeals and shreeks all the time!! She won't go to back till the doctors till next month, but our scale at home said 20lbs!

Our first family vacation

We took Addisyn to the ocean for the first time last week! She was such a wonderful baby for the whole trip. She seemed to enjoy the ocean and the pool. Brad and I were able to get in some much needed R&R! Other than hanging out on the beach and boardwalk, we visited Assateague Island and were able to see the wild ponies. Check out all our pics!

4 month check-up

Addisyn had her 4 month check-up today and is growing like crazy! She weighs 18 lbs 12.5 oz and is 26 3/4 inches long! Both her height and weight put her greater than the 97% - she's off the charts! Addisyn received her second round of immunizations today as well, and so far seems to be doing well.

Addisyn's first road trip

We took Addisyn for her first big trip this weekend to visit her Grandma & Grandpa Williams. She slept for 3 1/2 out of the 4 hour trip both ways! She didn't have any problems sleeping in a strange environment and was on best behavior for all the running around we did. Addisyn was finally able to meet her great-grandpa!

Addisyn is 4 months old!

Another month has gone by and Addisyn is growing like crazy! This past month she's become so much more interested in her surroundings and loves to put anything her little fingers can get a hold of into her mouth. Addisyn is such a happy baby and loves to smile at everyone! She's still sleeping wonderfully for us, and is such a joy to have in our lives. After making us wait for what seemed like forever, she finally rolled over from belly to back. It's amazing to see the changes in her from day to day. Her favorite toys are her doll babies (she has three - Dolly, Sally, and Polly - such original names!) and she loves to eat her burp clothes! Addisyn's hair is still an attention getter - strangers always stop to talk to her and touch her hair! Her check-up is on Friday so stay tuned for her big weigh-in and first attempt at eating cereal!

Addisyn's 2nd trip to the pool

We took Addisyn to the pool for her second time and it went much smoother than the first! Other than the initial shock of getting in, she seemed to enjoy it this time!

Happy Birthday America!

Due to the weather, we celebrated the 4th a day late. Addisyn seemed to really enjoy watching the fireworks despite it being loud and past her bedtime! We celebrated with Nanny, Pappy, Tricia, Gary, & Haylee.

1st time at the pool

I took Addisyn to the pool yesterday for the first time with Nanny, Tori, and Kylee. I stuck her feet in the water 3 times for just a few seconds! She cried the first time, but didn't seem to bothered after that. All the excitement must have wore her out - she slept the rest of the afternoon!

I'm 3 months old!

Addisyn is now 3 months old! She's growing and changing so much each day. We've had a lot of adjustments over the past few weeks - I've returned to work, and Addisyn is spending time alone with Daddy, Nanny, and Tricia & Haylee. She seems to have adjusted well, and I'm still working on it! She is now sleeping from 9:30 to 6 (I wake her for a feeding before I leave), and then back to sleep till Daddy wakes her at 8. Addisyn no longer likes to be rocked to sleep either - she prefers to be layed down awake and fall asleep on her own. I'm still trying to adjust to that too! Developmentally, she's smiling and cooing all day. She hasn't rolled over yet, but travels the entire distance of her crib at night. Some mornings I find her turned 180 degrees in her crib! She doesn't go back to the doctors till she's 4 mos for a weight check, but on our scale at home it said 16 lbs!

Father's Day

Brad had a great 1st Father's Day spent just hanging out with Addisyn and watching the US Open! Addisyn got him an Ergo carrier, 2 outdoor plants for their garden, and a mouse pad with a picture of the two of them on it.

2 month check-up

Addisyn's 2 month check-up was on Friday the 31st. She weighed in at 14 lbs 1 oz and was 23 1/4 inches long! She's still in the 97th percentile for weight, and is in the 75th for height. She received her first set of immunizations also. Overall, she did really well. She was fussy for about 1/2 of an hour, then slept all evening and night. Thank goodness we don't have to do that again for another 2 months!
Since her first time sleeping through the night, she's done it twice more - sleeping from 9:30-5. Hopefully that's a sign that she's getting closer to doing it all the time!

Memorial Day

Addisyn had her first visit to Caledonia State Park for the afternoon. As usual, she slept most of the time we were there! We couldn't resist sticking her feet in the cold creek - and she didn't even cry! She went right back to sleep as soon as we were done playing.

She finally slept through the whole night!

Addisyn shocked us last night - she skipped her 3am feeding!! She ate at 8:30 and was asleep by 10 till 5:15, then she ate again and went back to sleep from 6-9:15. That's the longest stretch of sleep I've gotten since my 2nd trimester! Let's hope she keeps this up...

I'm 2 months old!!

Our baby girl is now 2 months old. We took her for a walk at the park for the first time today. She has grown so much over the past month and is really starting to show her personality. One of the most exciting changes is that she smiles and talks (coo's) to us. She is quite a talker at times! She's also learning how to hold on to her toys and has figured out how to suck on her hands. Addisyn is sleeping for a 6hr stretch at night and is spending the first 1/2 of her night in her own room (neither mommy nor daddy are ready to move her all night!!). We can't wait to see how she continues to grow and develop each day!

Mother's Day

Our first Mother's Day was wonderful! We spent a good portion of the day relaxing at home. Then Addisyn and Brad took me out for dinner that evening. Addisyn also got me flowers and a new outfit. I couldn't resist dressing her up for the day!

First Smile!

Addisyn smiled for the first time at us yesterday! She's been smiling at the couch and ceiling for days now, so we knew it was only a matter of time till she smiled at us!

1 Month Check-up

Addisyn had her 1 month check-up today with the doctor. She now weighs 11 lbs 11oz and is 23 inches long!! Both of the measurements put her in the 97th percentile for her age. She's fitting comfortably in her 0-3 month clothing, but if she keeps growing this fast, she'll be out of them in no time!

Our baby is 1 month old!!

I can't believe how quickly time is flying by...it seems like just yesterday we found out we were pregnant. And now here we are with a 1 month old! We, along with Nanny & Pappy, purchased a tree for Addisyn today. We thought it would be exciting to watch Addisyn grow along with her tree!

Weight Check

Addisyn had a 2nd visit with the pediatrician on April 1st for a weight check and she gained 6 1/2 oz in 4 days! She isn't quite back to her birthweight yet - but if she keeps gaining at this rate, she'll be a chubby baby in no time! She weighs 8 lbs 4.5 oz.

1st outing

Friday the 28th was Addisyn's first official trip out of the house. She had her first appointment with her pediatrician. With the exception of a slight case of jaundice, everything looks good. She dropped to 7 lbs 14 oz since birth, so she'll need to be seen the 1st for a weight check.

Her arrival!

Addisyn Reese entered our world Monday, March 24th at 2:55 pm weighing in at 8 lbs, 6.5 oz, and 21 1/2 inches long. So far she has been a dream baby! The three of us are adjusting very well, and Daddy is already spoiling her!
