After 3 weeks, I've finally found time to write on here!! So how are we managing two kiddos? Some days, not so well! Just joking, we've had some good days, and some not so good days over the past few weeks. It's definitely been an adjustment for us (mainly Addisyn), but we're finally settling into a routine. I've told many people that having a second baby isn't difficult at all, its dealing with an almost 2 year old that's given me many gray hairs!!
When we first came home from the hospital, Addisyn was in love with Ben. She still is, but has learned she doesn't have to touch him constantly! She's gone through every emotion in the book, but I think she's finally back to her old self.
Ben, so far, has been such an easy baby. He does exactly what he's supposed to, and rarely cries. He's now sleeping for 5-6 hours straight overnight - yippee!!! I'm definitely enjoying every bit of my sleep. Tonight we were finally able to give him his first real bath. He had a few delays in the healing of his circ site, and his umbilical cord finally came off - with Addisyn's help!!
Figuring out how to manage the two of them, along with cooking and cleaning seems a bit overwhelming still. We've been fortunate to have meals provided, thanks to my wonderful mom's group! It makes me sad that the service is now over and I'll actually be cooking dinner - all week. I'll miss the warm, delivered to my door, meal and desserts!! And lucky for me, my mom is helping with the housework. I'll be sad when that ends too!! We've conquered outings, just the three of us, and Ben has been to several restaurants already. Getting out of the house is much easier than I thought it would be - now to work on arriving on time!!
This weekend we celebrated Addisyn's 2nd birthday with our families. Addisyn's big present from the grandparents and us was a swingset (or weeeeee....). She's so happy when she's on the sliding board! We've been blessed with such wonderful weather so most of her party was spent playing outside.
And today is Brad's 36th birthday. We let him decide how he wanted to spend it - so he chose to fertilize the lawn!!! Enjoy the many pics and we'll try to update more frequently!!
