Memories...

As my babies get older, its a reminder to me that life passes to quickly. What seemed like an eternity being pregnant with Addisyn and Benjamin is quickly turning into a distant memory. I am not the best at writing down my thoughts, but I do try to document our lives in photos, and yesterday was one of those days that I thought to myself, this is what I want to remember of my children's younger years. Just a lazy Sunday with nothing to do but play. We didn't go anywhere, get dressed up, or do anything spectacular - but we did laugh, and hug, and play all the silly games Addisyn could think of! Too often our schedules are so busy that we forget the simple things, or to just realize that they don't care where we go or what we do, they just want us and our undivided attention. So as the years go by, these are the days I want to remember.

The barn...

Several of my friends have been taking such amazing pics around a local old barn, so a few of us thought we should give it a try! Unfortunately, not only was my camera battery all but dead, but Addisyn was sporting a fat lip from a fall the night before. I definitely plan on taking my kiddos back this weekend to get some better shots! Here are just a few from the day...

Happy Halloween!!

This year Addisyn really enjoyed trick or treating! It didn't take her long to figure out what to say, and she was even polite and thanked people for the candy! We went downtown in the morning and spent the evening trick or treating with Addisyn and Benjamin's cousins.

Pumpkin painting

We decided rather than carving pumpkins this year, to go with the easier job of painting! Addisyn loved this activity - unfortunately, the paint we used did not hold up to the rain we had earlier in the week, so our pumpkins are now bare! Oh well....lesson learned!

And a few shots with our bare pumpkins!!

Ben is 8 months!

Just a few more months to the big o-n-e!! So crazy!!! Ben is such a wonderful little man! I love everything about being his mom. I love that I'm the one who can stop the crying instantly...the one who he always wants...the one he looks for from across the room...the one who can make him smile bigger than anyone else...the one he cries for when I leave the room....the one who knows immediately what he needs...what a wonderful job I have! I've said it before, but I'll say it again - this stage is by far one of my favorites. So what's Ben up to? He still isn't crawling forward, but is getting better each day at going backwards, he has 6 teeth, is working hard on pulling himself up from sitting to standing, is eating a ton of table foods and loves to feed himself, is still in a size 3 diaper and size 6-9 mos clothing - although most are getting too snug! Ben is still a great sleeper, taking two naps a day and sleeping about 11 hrs at night. We're so thankful for that!! Just this week we had a first - Brad thought Ben's hair was a little long, so for reasons unknown to me, decided to cut it himself. Once the first snip was made, there was no stopping him! So poor Ben ended up going to the salon yesterday to fix what daddy had done - NEVER AGAIN!! Poor little man screamed the entire time - he was sweating, I was sweating, Addisyn was getting a little panicked - good thing I bought her pretzels before the chaos had begun!! I did take pictures when Brad was doing the cutting, but no way could I manage to get some at the salon! And I didn't take pics after Brad was done - we'll pretend that cut didn't happen!!! Ben looks so grown up now...breaks my heart!

And just because she's so cute...this is Addisyn before gymnastics this morning!

Fall

Fall is finally here! I love watching the leaves change colors and the smell of the air this time of year. We've been super busy here, but have managed to squeeze in plenty of activities! Today we visited Reynold's farm for some pumpkin picking. We only got one, since we grew a dozen in our backyard this year! Addisyn had a blast and was on a search for the largest pumpkin...

We navigated through a corn maze and Addisyn found her favorite bug

They have a really nice play yard filled with different slides and equipment. This was probably Addisyn's favorite part!

And finally, some sibling love.....
