Catch up on the month of August

Here we are 1/2 way through the month and I have yet to post! Life has been busy. Over the past few weeks, we've taken a road trip to Brad's parents house, had many playdates, and have been soaking up as much sun as possible before summer is over. Addisyn has also had a few firsts - she stepped on and was stung by her first bee, learned the color blue, and can now open doors. Not the greatest thing to do when you're trying to shower and she leaves the bathroom! While at my in-laws house, we finally we able to get some more use out of Addisyn's t-shirt and spread the word about baby #2! I had to laugh because Brad's parents never noticed the shirt, but the next door neighbor saw it immediately and almost blew the secret! So we had to quickly quiet the neighbor and tell Brad's parents to read the shirt. This weekend we had my sister Kristen and Matt home for a visit and had a cook-out with all the family Friday evening.

I am anxiously awaiting my doctor's appointment this Wednesday to finally hear this little one's heartbeat! We've seen it several times, but nothing beats the sound of it. I've been feeling slightly under the weather since Wednesday. Apparently I've caught a stomach bug that just doesn't want to completely disappear.

Brad has been busy digging up the ground along the side of our house for yet another flower bed. He always manages to find plenty to do in the yard! We are leaving Wednesday for our family vacation to the beach, and boy are we ready! I can't wait to see Addisyn running up and down the beach and playing in the sand. I'm not sure how much relaxing we'll get to do - but at least we'll be getting in some exercise chasing her! Here are a few pics from the last few weeks.

Well, we are having......

These are the words that have changed our thinking for the past week. These are the words that have sent my husband nearly off the deep end. These are the words that have brought out every emotion possible. So, you're asking, what is the verdict? Will our lives be full of 3 little ones, all under 2, or will we be just another family of 4? After waiting for what seemed an eternity...we are happy to annouce that....
We are having a baby - just one, baby! Brad is breathing a huge sigh of relief, and I am too. Part of me did entertain the idea of two, and allowed my mind to think how fun it would be, but when reality kicked in, we are thrilled to be adding just one! And just look at how cute this foot is:
Brad was really hoping they could tell us something on the gender today, but unfortunately we're still a few weeks away from that. So in just 2 short months, we'll be able to announce what we are having! Ultrasounds are not always accurate, and new doctors can sometimes get mixed up - so we'll blame all of this on that. Until next time...

16 mos update

Another month has quickly gone by! So what is Addisyn up to these days? She is talking up a storm. Within the past few weeks, she's learned how to say nanny; pap-pap; ky-ky; circle; can now count from 2-3; and is starting to learn animal sounds like cow, sheep, and duck. We've been working hard on body parts, but she seems to be stuck at hair, belly, nose, and tongue! I guess she doesn't realize there is more to her than those 4 parts! I think she's also starting to recognize her bodily functions - she'll grab her diaper and say poo-poo when asked if she's dirty. We're still no where near ready for potty training. Not sure if I want to attempt that before the new one's arrival! Addisyn is also getting good at her shape sorters. It's crazy to think how far she's come. Just 2 years ago, we had just found out we were pregnant with her, and here we are now with a 16 month old and pregnant again!

I took Addisyn to the Shippensburg Fair kiddy day on Wednesday along with my friends Rachel and Tricia and their little girls, Alaina and Haylee. Haylee, being the oldest, was a pro at riding! She didn't want off. Alaina and Addisyn, on the other hand, weren't as amused. After the first few attempts at putting them on and them crying (mainly Addisyn!) and trying to get out, we quickly figured out the trick - throw them in right before the ride takes off and keep your fingers crossed they don't crawl out while its moving! Overall, the girls seemed to enjoy themselves, and were even able to check out the cows, goats, and bunnies! I'm sure next year they will have a ton of fun!

Nothing new to report on my end. We're anxiously awaiting Thursday's ultrasound. Fortunately, my nausea hasn't been as bad the past few days. I'm hoping that's a sign that good days are right around the corner - come on second trimester!!

The Surprise Is Out!!!

Finally, we can share our exciting news with everyone. Brad, Addisyn, and I are expecting an addition to our family February 25th, 2010! We've known for several weeks now, but have been waiting for today's ultrasound to share. So far this pregnancy has been nothing like my pregnancy with Addisyn. I've been having all day nausea off and on for weeks and am so incredibily exhausted. They fail to warn you to sleep all you want with your first pregnancy, because you don't get time to in the second!

Addisyn has been a big help in sharing the news. I made her a t-shirt that she unfortunately hasn't got a lot of use out of yet, but hopefully will now! I will be taking plenty of belly pics again - it'll be neat to compare this time from last. I can tell you that at this stage last time, I wasn't showing at all. My how things are different!

The crazy part in all of this, which I'm not sure I should even mention, is the doctor's aren't sure if there is 1 or 2 babies! She thought she saw a 2nd hiding behind, but couldn't tell for sure. So we have an ultrasound next Thursday to see exactly how many we have! We're trying to not entertain the idea of a 2nd till we know for sure - the idea stresses Brad out a little bit!!! I will be sure to let you all know as soon as we do! Now onto the pics!!!

Catching up

Such a slacker I've become! Life has just been crazy. And when I have free time, I'd much rather be napping! So this post will fill you in on the last week or so and I'll include a ton of pics. Brad and I were able to celebrate our anniversary Saturday night. We went to a favorite of ours, LJ's. You don't realize how nice it is to eat a meal without having to cut up food, entertain a 1 year old, and inhale your meal before a meltdown kicks in, until you go out without them! But of course what does every parent do when they are away from their child, but talk about them! It's crazy to think how much of our lives Addisyn has consumed!!

Now onto updates: Brad built a small patio off the side of our garage so he can easily drive his lawnmower in and out. Thank goodness he's so crafty! He used sand underneath the bricks, so Addisyn had a temporary sandbox in the back of my dad's truck for a few hours!

We spent a day at Cowan's Gap last weekend and Addisyn loved it. As soon as she saw the water she started screaming! Next month we're making a trip to the beach, and if our trip to the gap is any clue to how she'll do at the beach, she'll have a blast.

Finallly, here are a few of Addisyn enjoying her inflatable pool and just some cute poses around the house. I'll work on doing better at posting - So check in mid-week for a special post!!

Happy Anniversary Brad!

4 years ago on this day, Brad and I were married! Crazy to think its been that long already - where does the time go? We didn't do anything special today, unfortunately the world doesn't stop to celebrate such a joyous day. We're hoping to get out to dinner Saturday night without the squirt for a mini-celebration. Here are some pics from that hot day in Vegas!

Way behind on posting...

Wow! I didn't realize I haven't posted a thing in over a week!! Where to start - Addisyn had her 15 mos check-up last week. She weighs 25 lbs 11 oz (90th%) and is 32 3/4 inches (97th%). She received just one shot and handled it like a champ. We were a bit surprised by her weight - I check her weight at home occasionally and just 2 weeks before it registered her at 27. But after thinking about it, Addisyn had a horrible week getting her molars in, and barely ate. So I'm wondering if she hadn't dropped a little. She's finally back to her old self and is once again happy and eating everything in sight!

Our 4th of July was great! We went to Antietam Battlefield with my parents. Addisyn absolutely loved the fireworks - I'm still shocked she managed to stay awake as late as she did! She asked over and over, "what is that" and would reach towards the sky grunting when there was a pause between them. We packed tons of snacks and sat on the battlefield listening to the Maryland Symphony Orchestra.

Addisyn also had a growing up experience over the weekend. Our ped had suggested that it was time to put away the pacifier - Addisyn has only ever used it for nap and night time, so you would think she wouldn't be attached to it. WRONG!! Paci became a must for sleeping in our house. So imagine our fear when we even let the thought of getting rid of it slip into our minds! But thankfully, being the wonderful child she is, she's doing just fine without it. We hid it Friday night, and thought for sure she'd cry when we layed her down. Instead, she talked to herself for 20 minutes, then went right to sleep. When naptime rolled around Saturday, things were a little different. She fussed for 15 minutes, but then quickly went to sleep. So here we are Sunday night, she's sleeping, and we've been pacifier free for 2 1/2 days!!! Go Addisyn!! I think she was missing it tonight before bed though - as we were laying her down, she threw her hands in the air and asked, "where is it?"!! We chuckled and quickly replaced that thought with her blankie and baby! This was the final "piece" to her babyhood.........
