The rest of July!

July was hotter than hot this summer! Most days, the kids and I played at the local pools. Addisyn took swim lessons twice this summer and has really improved! She is finally no longer afraid of getting her face wet and just loves swimming. And Ben is content to play with a bucket and stick!

I just loved how every day before her lessons at the club they started out with a little pep talk. Addisyn listened so carefully to every word Mark said!

With Addisyn getting older and being able to sit for longer periods of time, we decided to take her to her first movie - at the Drive In Theater! Cars II was playing, and even though she had never seen the first, we figured it would keep her attention. Ben tagged along for the ride and was only interested for maybe the first five minutes. Overall, I think the kids enjoyed the picnic in the back of the car and sitting outside at the tv in the sky!

We made our first trip of the year to Brad's parents house a few weekends ago. I am so thankful that our kids have always been such good travelers - makes 4 hr car trips fairly easy. We had a fun weekend planned including a trip to a nearby lake. The kids absolutely loved it and the water was so warm it felt like bath water!

With our big vacation not being until September, Brad and I were starting to get antsy at home, so we made a quick trip to Ocean City with the kiddos! The weather was perfect and it was just what we needed to get us through till September.

We're getting down to our last few weeks of summer. Before we know it, school will be in session and gymnastics will be in full swing again! Thankfully a trip to Myrtle in September lets us squeeze out just a little more sun before the year is over!!

Summer recap

Summer is just flying by!! Here's a recap of some of our adventures from the end of June/beginning of July. I hope to eventually share all of our summer and get caught up on blogging!
We finished out June with a trip to Hershey Park. The kids had a blast and were on best behavior all day. Brad and I both agreed that we've never had such a perfect day with the kids! Addisyn rode every ride she was able to and Ben was even able to get on a few!

Our mom's club took a trip to Renfew park and were able to let the kiddos enjoy some mini train rides. During this outing last year, Ben was just a little guy, so this was his first time getting to ride the train!

We celebrated the 4th of July twice this year. The first being at Antietam Battlefield with my parents and brothers family, and then again here in Chambersburg.

I am enjoying every minute of summer and just love seeing the smiles on these two precious babies faces!!!

Memorial Weekend

Memorial Weekend we made our first trip of the season to the zoo. Even before kids, Brad and I enjoyed visiting all the local zoos, and now that we have little ones, we make it a point to continue these trips. This wasn't Ben's first trip to a zoo, but it was definitely the most enjoyable one. Like a typical day trip for us, it was super hot - and parking was a joke. Thankfully we have the double stroller and the kiddos can sit back and enjoy the ride!

The following day, we joined my parents, nieces, and the Williamson's at the circus. I was a little unsure how the day would go with Ben - and I was right in guessing that he wouldn't sit for more than 5 minutes of the show! Addisyn was able sit with everyone else while I spent a good bit of the time chasing Ben all around. We just so happened to be seated right near the handicapped area, which was a perfect spot for Ben to play in!

Memorial Day we had my parents over for a cookout and played in the kiddie pool. Ben had his first ice cream cone - which he loved! And Addisyn had a blast with the sparklers!

We have so many fun things in store for us this summer! I just love this time of year!
