Memorial Weekend

Memorial Weekend we made our first trip of the season to the zoo. Even before kids, Brad and I enjoyed visiting all the local zoos, and now that we have little ones, we make it a point to continue these trips. This wasn't Ben's first trip to a zoo, but it was definitely the most enjoyable one. Like a typical day trip for us, it was super hot - and parking was a joke. Thankfully we have the double stroller and the kiddos can sit back and enjoy the ride!

The following day, we joined my parents, nieces, and the Williamson's at the circus. I was a little unsure how the day would go with Ben - and I was right in guessing that he wouldn't sit for more than 5 minutes of the show! Addisyn was able sit with everyone else while I spent a good bit of the time chasing Ben all around. We just so happened to be seated right near the handicapped area, which was a perfect spot for Ben to play in!

Memorial Day we had my parents over for a cookout and played in the kiddie pool. Ben had his first ice cream cone - which he loved! And Addisyn had a blast with the sparklers!

We have so many fun things in store for us this summer! I just love this time of year!

Addisyn

Yup, its been forever since I've done a post!! Life is just flying by, and most days I barely have time to sit, let alone keep up with a blog! Addisyn and Ben are just as cute as ever - and growing way to fast. If only we could freeze time! And every time I tell Addisyn she needs to stop growing, she quickly reminds me she has to grow big so she can take care of all of the babies! This girl is baby crazy. Everywhere Addisyn goes, her baby goes. Every real baby or pregnant belly she sees, she comments on. She stuffs dolls under her shirt, nurses them all day long, bathes her babies and constantly asks when she can have a baby sister!

If the way she treats her baby doll is any predictor of how good of a mother she'll be, then she will be the best! Life isn't all about babies though, Addisyn just completed her first year of gymnastics. She has learned so much and loves practicing her jumps and rolls! I really hope when fall comes that she will want to go back to class. Her class finished the year with a show - and I know I am biased, but Addisyn looked so cute in her leotard!

Addisyn also completed her first year of early preschool - All by Myself. This fall she will go two days a week! I loved her teachers and am a little sad that she will not be with them next year, but I'm sure her new teachers will be just as great!

One of the final days of school was a carnival, and Addisyn loved it! They had tons of cute games to play and a bouncy house! Addisyn learned so much over this past year, and I love that they offer such great programs in our area!

Addisyn says some of the craziest things these days, and I don't want to forget them, or her sweet little voice! Her latest saying is, oh dear! She loves to listen to music and when I favorite song comes on the radio she says I can't heard it! Cracks me up every time!! The other week during Ben's bath I noticed a bite mark on his back. When I questioned Addisyn, she quickly said, I had to do it mommy. I just had to bite Ben! Then she made sure to tell me she was sorry and she didn't need a time out. Crazy girl!!!

Happy Easter

What a fun weekend we've had! We kicked off the holiday weekend on Thursday with my sister, Kristen, coming to visit. Addisyn was beyond excited to see her! Friday we went out to breakfast with my mom, sister, and niece, Tori, followed by a little shopping. And with every one's crazy weekend schedules, we ended up having an early Easter dinner that evening with the Watkins clan, minus the Harper's. Originally I had planned on several egg hunts on Saturday, but with our wonderful spring weather, our egg hunts were cut short. We made it to one hunt, and I'm almost certain we picked the best one! Chocolate lollipops were passed out as soon as we entered and prizes were given to all kids - baskets loaded with chocolate bunnies, books, and candy of all sorts!

After the egg hunt, we did the traditional egg dying. Now what we're going to do with a dozen colored eggs is beyond me!

The weather finally cooperated that evening, so we took the kiddos to the park for a bike ride. Now that Addisyn has a helmet, she's really been into riding outdoors.

Today has been a nice, laid back kind of day. We hid the kids Easter baskets this morning, and Addisyn was sure that the Easter bunny would bring her another baby. Good thing she seemed to forget about that when she found her basket!! And yup, this pic is beyond blurry - but her smile is still cute!

Ben pulled his snacks out of his basket right away!

I attempted to take some Easter pics of the kids, but with Ben always on the go and Addisyn looking anywhere but at the camera, it proves to be challenging! Nevertheless, they are still the most gorgeous kiddos ever!!!
And no, Ben's not looking, but I just wanted to show how adorable his little outfit was - thanks Aunt Kristen!

We finished our day with another bike ride at the park, and managed to get caught in the rainstorm. I don't have any pics from it, but just picture me pushing Ben in his car, running as fast as I can while Brad is trying to get Addisyn to petal faster! The kids found it amusing, and I'm sure all who were watching did also!!

Addisyn's 3 year checkup and birthday pics

Addisyn's three year check-up was today - we're so fortunate that the last time Addisyn was at the doctor's was for her 2 year check-up! This girl is still growing like crazy! She now weighs 40 lbs (97th%) and is 39 inches (89th%)!!!! For being a shy child, she quickly warmed up to the doctor and answered all of her questions. We started celebrating Addisyn's birthday a few days early with a small party at home. The girl was so excited to know that her friends and family were all coming over to see her! Addisyn talked non-stop about her birthday as soon as Ben's was over. Birthdays to me are the most special day of the year, and I always want to make it a point to make my kiddos feel special on their day. And even though Addisyn was super shy when all the attention was on her, I think we succeeded in making her feel special! Her own special cake! This was a present from Addisyn's Great Aunt - nothing cuter than matching child and doll bathing suits!
