Preparing for Santa

Now that Addisyn is older, we thought this year was perfect to bring out some traditions we enjoyed growing up. One of the old fav's is making cookies for Santa. Addisyn loved every part of baking! She helped break the eggs (which we had to get from the neighbors!), stir the batter, roll the cookies, and decorate with icing and sprinkles.






Of course, what's baking without sampling? When I took the second batch out of the oven, I turned to find this...

We placed our cookies, milk and carrots ever so carefully on a small table by the door christmas eve and hoped the big man in red would make an appearance!



The look on her face christmas morning when she came down the stairs and realized the treats were gone was priceless! Brad thought he was recording her as she came downstairs, but turns out he never turned it on! So all we have is this pic of her!

Holiday traditions are so much more fun now that the little ones are here to share them with!

So behind!!

Seems like forever since I've posted! I took a much needed blog/computer break over the holidays and am now back in the groove of life. So much time has passed that I'll slowly recap the last few weeks.

Ben is now 10 mos and is such a loving, sweet little man! He's up to 8 teeth now and eats pretty much everything in site! Ben still naps twice a day and is an amazing sleeper - we're so thankful for that. He is standing on his own, cruising all over the place, and has started taking a step or two. The only word he says is momma....such a sweet first word! It took Addisyn forever till she could say my name! Little man is super busy figuring out how things open, checking out his surroundings, and trying to keep up with Addisyn.


The morning I took the following pics the kids were hilarious! Addisyn was insistent that Ben have a baby buggy and follow her around the house. So the two of them made lap after lap together!


The next two are kind of blurry, but she was so super sweet with Ben that I had to share these pics!

The tree

Our Christmas tree has been up for 2 weeks now, and I'm just finally getting around to sharing the pics! Addisyn loved helping Brad decorate this year. She was so excited to dig through the boxes and get out all the ornaments. Ben, was a typical crawling baby - everything he could get a hold of went straight in his mouth! Having little ones in the house makes holidays so much more fun. I can't wait till Christmas morning when Addisyn sees what santa brought for her!!

Ben is 9 months!!

A little late, but here's Ben's latest update! Little man is up to 22 lbs 3 oz and is 28 3/4 inches tall - he grew over 2 lbs and 2+ inches! Over the past month he has learned how to crawl, can pull himself up to standing, and is even taking a step or two along furniture. Ben now eats everything we eat and loves feeding himself. He is still a wonderful sleeper and has such a loving demeanor. Some of my favorite times with Ben are when he first wakes up and rubs his head on my shoulder - so precious!! And there's no denying that he is so in love with his momma - I'm always the number one pick! This past month Addisyn has finally realized she has a 24/7 playmate. The two of them will sit in the playroom and entertain eachother for a long time! Bath time has become a favorite for Ben. As soon as the water starts running he starts bouncing up and down! We've all been enjoying every minute with him and can't wait to see what he learns next!

Milk anyone?

I'm sure that one day this picture will cause a ton of embarassment, but I had to take it! Her baby needed a little milk for bed last night!!! This has been Addisyn's obsession for quite some time now - not only does she nurse her babies, but she tries almost daily to nurse Ben! Poor little man screams till I come to the rescue!
